WAC staff held an extended meeting dedicated to the eighth convention of the Congress to be held on December 7-11, 2022 in Sukhum. Development of an action plan for the Congress were discussed and the next organizational steps were outlined at the meeting.
Exhibition of the Union of Gunsmiths of Abkhazia "X-НАПЫ" opened in Sukhum
The reporting exhibition of the Union of Artists of Gunsmiths of Abkhazia "X-НАПЫ" opened in the Central Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Abkhazia on October 18. This exhibition was the second for the Union, which was opened in 2021 under the chairmanship of master blacksmith Timur Dzidzaria. The exhibition presents 20 works by Union gunsmiths. Among the exhibits one can see daggers, checkers, alabashya, sticks, hunting and kitchen knives made of Damascus and Turkish steel. The "X-НАПЫ" exhibition will be open until October 21.
Gennady Alamia met with WAC staff
The WAC staff met with the Abkhazian poet, public and political figure, former (15 years) Secretary General of the IAAAP (now the WAC), holder of the II degree Order of Honor and Glory, Gennady Alamia. During the meeting, Gennady Alamia handed over to the Congress team the issues of the “Abaza“ magazine for further digitization. He has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine since 1995.
