The second meeting of the VII Congress of the World Abaza Congress

The head of the Moscow-based Abkhazian Diaspora, Beslan Agrba, was elected a member of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the WAC and expressed his readiness to support the new edition of the Charter of the WAC. According to Beslan Agrba the main task of the WAC is the preservation and development of the Abkhazian state, and called on all forces of the Abkhaz and Abazins all over the world to reach this target.

In total, the forum gathered 208 delegates from Abkhazia, Russia, Jordan, Turkey and Syria.

The forum also formed the Supreme Council of the WAC. It included representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza people from Abkhazia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria and other regions of Russia, as well as from Turkey, Jordan, Syria and Adjara. The Presidium of the Supreme Council of the WAC was also elected.

The head of the WAC information portal Amina Lazba presented to the audience the video of the future portal, which will among other things solve the problems of informing the Abkhaz-Abaza people, finding more about the history and culture of the Abkhazians and Abazins in various languages of the world.

The new edition of the Charter of the organization was approved and the Supreme Council of the WAC was formed at the second meeting of the Seventh Congress of the World Abaza Congress (WAC) in Sukhum.

The first meeting, during which for the first time in 25 years there was a change in leadership of the WAC, took place on December 7-9, 2017. At this meeting, a philanthropist, scholar and businessman of Abazin origin, Mussa Ekzekov, was elected the new chairman of the Supreme Council of the Association. Inar Gitsba was elected Executive Secretary of the WAC.
