What is Abkhazia? A land of the soul, a land of mountains, hills, and waterfalls, a sovereign Caucasian republic on the shores of the Black Sea. That is today. But what was it like hundreds or thousands of years ago? The WAC, together with the State Repatriation Committee, produced a series of popular science films called "History of Abkhazia."
In the first episode, you'll learn the country's ancient history, from the appearance of dolmens to the formation of the Abkhazian Kingdom.
The formation and height of the Abkhazian Kingdom, the expansion of Italian traders in Abkhazia and the establishment of their trading post here, the reign of Keleshbey Chachba-Shervashidze, the Caucasian War, and the subsequent Mokhadzhirstvo will be available in the second episode of "History of Abkhazia."
The third episode of "History of Abkhazia" will include socialist revolution, cultural upsurge, the struggle for national rights, the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia, and the restoration of state sovereignty.
