A competition has been announced for filling the vacant position of a journalist of the Information Department of the World Abaza Congress

The World Abaza Congress is holding a competition for the employment of a senior officer of the Congress Information Department. This was reported by the head of the Sukhum office of the WAC Temur Rekvava.

According to Rekvava, the competition for a vacant position in the Congress Info Portal consists of four stages.

"At the first stage of the Competition, we will accept written applications from candidates applying for the vacant position of a journalist in the Congress Information Department addressed to Mussa Ekzekov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC. At the second and third stages, the selected candidates will undergo individual interviews with members of the Competition Commission in Sukhum and employees of the Office of the Supreme Council of the WAC via video link with St. Petersburg. The purpose of the interview is to identify the professional level of the contestant and his/her readiness to carry out the immediate tasks of a journalist of the Information Department. The fourth stage will complete with an online interview with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Mussa Ekzekov," Rekvava said.

He also noted that candidates' written applications must go together with a letter of motivation (no more than 1 page in Abkhaz or Russian), a CV, copies of an identity document and a workbook.

Qualification requirements for a candidate to fill the vacant position of a journalist of the WAC Department are the following: higher professional education, work experience in the media for at least 3 years, ability to write and edit texts, use digital storytelling and multimedia tools, shoot photo and video content. Fluency in the Abkhaz language will be a significant advantage.

A written application and related documents should be sent to info@abaza.org. The application deadline is from March 27 to April 24, 2023 inclusive.

Based on the results of the first stage of the competition, the dates of individual interviews will be set for the candidates selected by the WAC Competition Committee within two weeks.

The Information Department of the WAC began its work in September 2018 in 6 languages: Abkhaz, Abaza, English, Arabic, Russian and Turkish. The total number of publications over the five years of the website's operation is more than 4500 materials in 6 languages.
