The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the influence of the processes of globalization and localization (glocalization) on the religious views of Abaza. Relying on empirical and theoretical research methods, the author examines the formation and development of religious views of the Abaza from paganism to monotheism. The research is based on the theory of globalization and is considered in the context of globalization-localization. The article has a practical part. According to the results of a survey of representatives of the Abaza people, the author comes to the conclusion that the formation of the religious identity of the people is subject to the processes of globalization and localization. Based on the linguistic and historical analysis of some expressions in the Abaza language, the author shows what a significant role language plays in the interpretation of some features of the culture and history of the people. This work has scientific anthropological, historical and ethnographic significance. It will be of interest to a wide range of researchers’ studying the phenomena of identity, the processes of globalization and their impact on the development of society, as well as researchers whose activities are aimed at studying the history, culture and language of the Abaza people.
