Meeting of representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza ethnic group, organized at the initiative of the World Abaza Congress, was first held in St. Petersburg on Sunday, November 11.

The Abkhaz and Abaza living in St. Petersburg gathered for a meeting on November 11 to get to know each other and to outline the prospects for further communication. This was the first meeting held in such a wide format. Over 120 people took part in it.

The Assistant Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Kan Tania, spoke about the main goal of the event - to introduce the representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza people living in St. Petersburg, to establish contacts between them. Tania stressed that “the task was accomplished,” outlined the prospects for further communication and various associations.

As part of the evening, a concert was held, in which artists, Abkhazians and Abazins living in St. Petersburg, as well as the local Adyg folk dance ensemble «Nart» performed.
