The traditional harvest festival took place in the historical meadow of Lykhnashta. The event was attended by representatives of the Gudauta region villages and the town of Novy Afon. This year, for the first time, the pavilion was opened by representatives of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.

Participants of the festival presented a variety of agricultural products, traditional household utensils, handicrafts and treated everyone with dishes of national cuisine.

The “Abaza Yard” pavilion presented objects of decorative and applied art, knives, paintings, and dishes of Abaza cuisine. The delegation from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic included representatives of the International Association for Promoting the Development of the Abaza-Abkhaz Ethnic Group “Alashara”, the Coordinating Women’s Council at “Alashara”, the children’s and youth ensemble “Amra”, and artisans.

“The Abaza came to Lykhnashta for the first time in this composition. We really hope that we will be able to take part in the exhibition every year. We were assisted on the trip by: the World Abaza Congress, the “Alashara“ non-profit organization and the “Abaza” public organization. We also express our gratitude to the head of the administration of the Abaza municipal district, Ruslan Kuzhev, and the head of the “Center for Culture and Leisure”, Susanna Shaeva,” noted the head of a separate division of the ANO “Alashara” Murat Gedugov.

Along with the folk festivities, a concert was held with the participation of vocal and dance groups. As part of the celebration, equestrian competitions, national games and archery competitions took place.

The harvest festival was attended by the Vice-President of Abkhazia Badra Gumba, Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab, Speaker of the Parliament Lasha Ashuba, and deputies.

The atmosphere in the Lykhnashta meadow was festive and solemn. Many representatives of the older generation came in national costumes. Folk festivities attracted not only local residents, but also many guests of the republic.

The colorful fireworks became a wonderful end to the day.
