The exhibition of coins and banknotes of the National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia was held in two Turkish cities - Istanbul and Adapazari.  The exposition was held thanks to the support of the official Representative office of Abkhazia in Turkey, as well as the Federation of Abkhaz cultural centers, the chairman of the National Bank of Abkhazia Beslan Baratelia reported.

He said that over the past two years, coins were exhibited at various international professional sites.

“This time we decided to show them to our large Diaspora in Turkey. We brought almost all the coins that were issued by the Bank of Abkhazia.  There were a lot of people, a special interest was felt - probably because the coins were made at home,” the National Bank chairman suggested, noting the warm attitude of visitors to the exhibition.

Astamur Bagateliya, Counselor for Economic and Political Issues of the Plenipotentiary Representative office of Abkhazia in Turkey, confirmed in turn that the exhibition turned out to be popular and in demand both among representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza Diaspora and among the Turkish intelligentsia.

“In Istanbul, it was visited by about 200 people, and in the city of Adapazari, in the center of culture and congress of the Sakarya University, by about 600 people.  There were also representatives of the North Caucasian communities in Turkey, there was a deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Engin Papba, representatives of the Turkish intelligentsia,” said Bagateliya.

He expressed personal gratitude to all who assisted in organizing the exhibition: the chairman of the Abkhaz Cultural Center in Istanbul, Shamil Eshba, the chairman of the Federation of Abkhaz Cultural Centers Atanur Akusba and the board member of the Abkhaz Cultural Center in Sakarya Ercan Bashnyhu.

The exhibition of commemorative coins of the National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia in the cities of Turkey ended on the fourth of May.
